This was a new, and very satisfying, metalworking venture for me being a change from the usual workshop tooling and stationary steam engines. However, even though the end result made all the effort worthwhile it is improbable that I will attempt another. This, as I am unlikely to find the patience to carry out once more the very repeatative aspects of the task, final polishing, cutting the gear teeth, etc.
I showed the clock at the 2012 Model Engineering Exhibition where it was awarded a silver medal and the Claude B Reeve Memorial Trophy, there being no gold medal winners in the class. The clock is to a design by John Parslow and published as a series in the Model Engineer magazine starting in number 4322, 28March 2008
I am also including below two photographs of a different version of the clock, being made as a result of an insperation had by my wife and made by the daughter of a friend of hers. I think its purpose should be obvious.
