This page shows a few other uses for my advanced grinding rest.
Photo 1 shows a drill being sharpened using the four facet method. Do follow the link for more detail on this method and other methods of sharpening drills. LINK
Sharpening a screwdriver is a simple task but not that easy to get an acceptable result unaided.
Photo 2 shows my advanced grinding rest being used for the task.
Rather an overkill but using the end mill sharpening fixture, Photo 3, will produce excellent results when sharpening a centre punch. In the absence of the fixture a simple adaptor running in a vee block mounted on the grinding rest table will, with care, produce equally good results.
Rather than doing it manually, using the grinding rest will produce a more accurate result when dressing the grinding wheel, Photo 4.

The setups shown are using my advanced grinding rest for the tasks being undertaken. However, my basic grinding rest works very similarly and will, with just a little extra care, produce equally good results using the same methods.
